How to make Weed Butter? Easy & Fast Recipe for Beginners

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]Do you want to learn how to make weed butter? This is a great way to enjoy the benefits of cannabis without having to smoke it. Weed butter is a versatile ingredient that can be used in many recipes. This step-by-step guide will show you how to make cannabutter using different methods. We will also discuss alternatives to cannabutter, such as THC oil and CBD oil. So whether you are a beginner or an experienced cannabis cook, you will find something useful in this guide!

Before We Start: What is Weed Butter/CannaButter?

Weed butter, also known as cannabutter, is a type of cannabis-infused butter. It is made by infusing cannabutter with THC or CBD. Cannabutter can be used in many recipes, such as brownies, cookies, and cakes.

THC is the main psychoactive compound in cannabis. It is responsible for people’s ” high ” when they smoke or consume cannabis. CBD, on the other hand, is a non-psychoactive compound. This means that it does not produce the “high” associated with THC. However, CBD has many potential health benefits, such as reducing anxiety and pain.

Now that you know a little bit about cannabutter let’s move on to the recipe!

    About the Ingredients

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”14735″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” parallax_scroll=”no” woodmart_inline=”no”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]Dried Cannabis Flowers, To use cannabutter to make edibles, you need first to decarboxylate the cannabis. This process activates the THC in cannabis and makes it potent. To decarboxylate cannabis, spread it out on a baking sheet and bake it in the oven at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30-40 minutes.  You might be thinking why decarbing is necessary if you’re making cannabutter. The process of decarboxylation not only activates the THC in cannabis but also breaks down other cannabinoids such as CBD, CBG etc..

Choose High-grade Flowers for your Cannabutter. You should also go for the strains that you know how it’s going to affect you. Some of the most popular weed strains for cannabutter are AAAA Blueberry Kush, $99oz AAA Super Lemon Haze, AAAA MK Ultra (Indica) or even AAA+ Lemon Sour Diesel. But the strain you choose for your cannabis totally depends on you. People tend to prefer Sativa or Hybrid strain for recreational purposes as it tends to be more uplifting and energizing than Indica strains which are often used for medicinal purposes due to their sedative and relaxing effects.

Butter. The next step is to choose unsalted butter, clarified butter, or ghee. In this recipe we use butter but you can copy the same recipe to make cannabis oil with coconut oil, MCT oil or even Olive Oil. If you have diet restrictions this can be a good alternative for you.

    Make Cannabutter: Step by Step

    • Step One: Decarboxylate The Cannabis. As we mentioned earlier, you need to decarboxylate the cannabis before infusing it into the butter. Spread the ground cannabis on a baking sheet and bake it in the oven at 240 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes.
    • Step Two: Break/Grind Cannabis into Powdered Form. Once the cannabis is decarboxylated, break it up into smaller pieces or grind it into a powder using a grinder. This is because smaller pieces of cannabis will infuse better into the butter.
    • Step Three: Melting Butter at Low Heat. In a saucepan, melt the butter on low heat. You don’t want the butter to get too hot, as this can cause the THC to evaporate.
    • Step Four: Adding Water and Cannabis. Once the butter is melted, add water and cannabis to the pan. The ratio of cannabutter to water should be about one-to-one.
    • Step Five: Simmering and Infusing Butter with Cannabis. Now, you need to simmer the mixture for a few hours. This allows the THC to infuse into the butter. Be sure to stir occasionally and do not let the mixture boil
    • Step Six: Refrigerate and Store in a Cool Place. After a few hours, remove the pan from the heat and let it cool. Then, strain the cannabutter using a cheesecloth or fine strainer. Once strained, cannabutter can be stored in the fridge for two months.

Calculate your Weed Butter Edible Dosage

It cannot be easy to calculate your butter dosage when infused with cannabis because many variables are at play. The THC content of the cannabis, the cooking time and the temperature will all affect how potent the butter or your edibles will be. The percentage of THC in cannabis is really hard to know if you don’t have the potency clearly written on the label; In the end, it’s all about the amount you’re consuming.

When decarb your weed the potency can vary when heating for two hours instead of one and raising the heat to 180°F rather than 170°F. As a result, it is often necessary to experiment to find the perfect dosage. A good way to test the potency of homemade edibles is to start with a small amount and see how it affects you after an hour. This will help you gauge the edibles’ strength and adjust your dosage accordingly.

Keep an eye on how much cannabis you put into the mixture. Even a tiny amount of cannabis might produce a high final mg of THC if added to a cup of butter. Use the edibles dosage calculator and our edible dosage chart to figure out how much you should use before beginning.

    Tips To Make Better Cannabutter

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”14737″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” parallax_scroll=”no” woodmart_inline=”no”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]If you want to make the best cannabutter, we have some great tips. Here are the top-secret recipe tips that will make your cannabutter more delicious!

    1. Use high-quality butter. This is the key to making delicious cannabutter. Be sure to use good quality butter, such as grass-fed butter or Kerrygold butter.
    2. Use high-grade dried cannabis flowers. For best results, be sure to use freshly harvested cannabis that has been properly cured. Older, dried-out cannabis will not infuse as well into the butter.
    3. Use a slow cooker or crockpot. If you want to make cannabutter without using a stove, you can use a slow cooker or crockpot. Just be sure to simmer for a longer period of time (at least 3 hours) to allow the THC to infuse properly.
    4. You can use water when cooking cannabutter. This helps prevent the cannabutter from burning and ensures that all of the THC is extracted from the plant material.
    5. Don’t let the cannabutter mixture boil. If the mixture boils, some of the THC will be lost in the vapour. Just be sure to simmer on low heat for a few hours.
    6. Be patient! Making cannabutter takes time and patience. Be sure to allow enough time for the cannabutter to infuse properly.
    7. Store cannabutter in a cool, dark place. Once made, cannabutter can be stored in the refrigerator for two months. Just be sure to store it in an airtight container so that it doesn’t dry out.

Making cannabutter is a simple process, but there are a few things to consider if you want to make the best cannabis.

Cannabis To Butter Ratio: Making Cannabutter Stonger!

When making cannabutter, the ratio between weed and butter is the most important factor in your butter potency apart from the THC concentration. People looking for a strong concentration of Butter should use a 1 oz flower: 1 pound butter ratio. Usually, people would use only half an ounce of cannabis per pound of butter, but again it also depends on the flower potency. This ensures that your final product is perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of potency and flavour.

However, if you find that your cannabutter is too strong, you can take a few different approaches to make it milder. For example, simply adding more regular butter to your final product will help to dilute the concentration. If you want some extra flavour with no potency, you can add some freshly-picked cannabis flowers to your final mixture. And if you want to boost the strength of your cannabutter, add a bit more cannabis concentrates such as Distillate.

    Alternatives To Cannabutter

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”14524″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” parallax_scroll=”no” woodmart_inline=”no”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]If you want to avoid using cannabutter in your recipes, you can use a few different options instead.

The bright side of these alternatives is that it allows you to get an accurate dosage for your recipes, as the THC/CBD dosage is clearly known or written on the label. It solves the problem of guessing “how potent is my cannabutter?”. THC Oil comes with 1000mg of THC, COncentrates like distillate come at 90% of THC, from this point it is much easier to evaluate the potency of your 420 products.

No matter which method you choose, use the proper dosage to avoid overconsumption.

  • How to Decarb Weed? Cannabis Decarb Guide for Oil & Edibles

How to Decarb Weed? Cannabis Decarb Guide for Oil & Edibles

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]If you’re looking for a way to get the most out of your weed, you need to learn how to decarb it. Decarbing weed is essential if you want to enjoy its full psychoactive effects for your cannabis-infused oil, cannabutter and your edibles. It’s a simple process that only takes a few minutes, and it can be done using your home oven. So, if you’re ready to start enjoying your weed to the fullest, keep reading for instructions on how to decarb it.

First Things First: What’s Decarb or Decarboxylation?

Decarb, or decarboxylation, is how certain cannabinoids such as THC-A and CBD-A in cannabis lose a carboxylic Acid group. This chemical change alters the structure of these compounds and activates their potency and effects.

Decarb involves heating cannabis at a specific temperature for a set amount of time, typically in an oven or another heater. Interestingly, many of the compounds that make up cannabis require decarb to become active; in other words, they need to be decarboxylated to produce the effects commonly associated with marijuana use.

In addition to increasing potency, decarb also improves flavour and odour. Thus, when preparing cannabis for making oil or edibles, it is essential to decarboxylate your material before proceeding fully. Doing so helps to ensure that you get all of the benefits from this powerful plant.

    Why Decarb Weed?

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”14524″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” parallax_scroll=”no” woodmart_inline=”no”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]When a cannabis plant is growing or has just been harvested, the cannabinoids contained within the flower trichomes have an extra carboxyl ring (COOH) attached to their molecular chain.

By decarbing your weed, you are removing the carboxyl group from the cannabinoid molecule. This process is what effectively transforms THCA into active THC as well as CBDA into CBD and so on. Thus, it’s the perfect way to ensure that you get the most out of your weed.

Decarbing your weed is an essential process if you want to make homemade edibles or any other type of cannabis-infused product. Decarbing essentially helps you to infuse your weed effectively into butters and oils, which is the key to making potent cannabutter and edibles.

A proper decarb gives you a fully activated flower, meaning you can use it as-is for:

    • Edibles
    • Tinctures
    • THC Oils
    • CBD Oils
    • Weed Butter
    • Pain salves

The Chemistry of Decarbing: What Happens During Decarboxylation?

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”14698″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” parallax_scroll=”no” woodmart_inline=”no”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]Decarboxylation is a chemical reaction that occurs when cannabis undergoes heat and causes changes to the overall structure of its compounds. A carboxyl group containing one carbon atom and two oxygen atoms during decarboxylation is removed from the plant’s cellular structures.

This results in converting cannabinoids like THCA and CBDA into their non-acidic forms THC or CBD. As temperatures increase during this process, the carboxylate group is removed. Scientific research has shown that CBD and other cannabinoids have similar properties to carboxylic acid and are affected by decarboxylation in much the same way.

Overall, decarboxylation plays an important role in altering cannabis’ chemical makeup and should be considered both when cooking with cannabis infusions or edibles.

    Expert Tips To Decarb Weed

Many people have likely heard the term decarboxylation when it comes to cannabis but may not be entirely sure how to perform this process. Here are a few tips that will allow you to decarb your weed the best way possible.

    Decarboxylation Temperature Chart

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”14700″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” parallax_scroll=”no” woodmart_inline=”no”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]While multiple factors can influence how cannabis is decarboxylated, such as plant material and desired effects, one of the most important is temperature.

Below is a chart illustrating some common decarb temperatures and their corresponding effects:

    1. 240 degrees F for 30min – THCA converts into THC
    2. 240 degrees F for 40min – CBDA converts into CBD
    3. 240 degrees F for 40min – CBGA converts into CBG
    4. Over 300 degrees F – Terpenes begin to burn off

To get the most from your cannabis, it is important to monitor and control the temperature throughout each decarb process carefully.

To do this, you can use a decarboxylation machine specifically designed to control and maintain the desired temperature throughout the process. These handy machines take much of the guesswork out of decarbing and help ensure maximum potency and effects from your cannabis every time.

    Alternative Ways Of Cannabis Decarboxylation

There are several different methods for decarboxylating cannabis, each with its pros and cons. One popular method is to do it with low temperature for a long period – often upwards of 4 hours. This slow but steady approach helps prevent degradation of the cannabinoids and ensures maximum potency and effects.

While some people prefer to decarb their weed using a slow cook method, others prefer to use higher temperatures for a quicker reaction. Here are some of the options you have when it comes to decarb your weed.

    Use a double-boiler

This is safer because you don’t risk burning your weed, terpenes and cannabinoids. Fill the bottom part of the double boiler with water and put your weed in the top part of the double boiler. Let it cook with low heat (around 212 degrees F) for 90-120 minutes for THC and 2-4 hours for CBD. When it’s done, you can use the weed however you like.

    Go with a Crock-Pot

The slow cooker is another convenient way to decarboxylate cannabis. While it takes somewhat longer than other techniques, it’s extremely “set and forget.” Many people choose the slow cooker since there is no odour with this method, making it much more discrete.

This safe method uses indirect heat. Fill the Crock-Pot with water and put it on the low setting. Put your weed in a Mason jar then place it in the pot. Let it cook for 4-6 hours, and then take it out of the Crock-Pot to allow it to cool before handling it.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]

    Make Your Flavor

THC Gummies are one of the most popular snacks on the market and for a good reason. They are delicious, but they also offer a convenient and discreet way to consume THC. However, store-bought THC Gummies can be expensive, and it cannot be easy to find your favourite flavours. Fortunately, it’s easy to make your THC Gummies at home. It would help if you had a mould, some THC-infused syrup, and a little patience.

The process is simple: pour the syrup into the mould, allow it to set, and then enjoy your homemade THC Gummies. Plus, making your THC Gummies allows you to experiment with different flavours and dosages, so you can always find the perfect snack for your needs.

    Forego the Jell-O

THC gummies are one of the most popular ways to consume cannabis, and it’s easy to see why. They’re easy to make, highly potent, and can be tailored to fit any taste. However, there’s one key ingredient that many THC gummies recipes call for that is often overlooked: Jell-O.

While Jell-O may add a touch of sweetness and flavour, it’s not necessary for making THC gummies. Several alternative recipes forego the Jell-O altogether. These recipes often call for fruit juice or pureed fruit, adding a delicious natural sweetness to the gummies. 1. Control over ingredients: When you make your weed gummies, you have complete control over the ingredients that go into them. This means that you can avoid any potentially harmful additives and choose only those ingredients you feel comfortable consuming.
    2. Customizable dosage: Another benefit of making your weed gummies is that you can easily customize the dosage to fit your needs. For example, if you want a stronger dose, you can use more THC-infused syrup in the recipe. Conversely, if you want a weaker dose, you can find it simply useless.
    3. Save money: Perhaps the biggest benefit of making your weed gummies is that they can save you a lot of money in the long run. Store-bought THC gummies can be quite expensive unless you can find a reliable source for cheap edibles, so homemade gummies are the way to go if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option.
    4. Experiment with flavours: When you make your weed gummies, you also can experiment with different flavours and ingredients – which is a great way to get creative in the kitchen. Whether you prefer fruity flavours or something more savoury, there’s sure to be an option!
    5. Much healthier: Finally, making your weed gummies is much healthier than purchasing store-bought alternatives, as it gives you complete control over the ingredients. After all, you know exactly what’s going into your gummies and can therefore choose only those considered safe for consumption.

Tips for Making Perfect THC Gummies

In the world of weed gummies, there are many secrets and hacks to maximizing the potency and flavour of your medicated treats. One of the most important things to keep in mind is that THC is highly soluble in oil, meaning that it will absorb easily into any fatty medium. This makes oils like coconut, olive, and avocado ideal for infusing thc into gummies.

Additionally, using the concentrates like distillate can help to increase the dosage accuracy of your edibles while minimizing the need for preparation, especially if you have to do your own cannabis-infused oil. Whatever your preference may be, by incorporating these tips into your weed gummy-making process, you can create truly potent and delicious treats that will satisfy all your cravings.

    • Use a high-quality THC oil or concentrates: If you want your gummies to be potent and delicious, you should keep a few things in mind to ensure that they taste great, but it will also help to maximize their potency.
    • Use the right ratio of ingredients: If you want perfect THC gummies, it’s vital to use the right ratio of ingredients. Generally speaking, we recommend using 1 teaspoon (5ml) of THC-infused syrup for every 2 cups (500ml) of the regular gummy mix.
    • Be patient: Making THC gummies takes time and patience. So if you want perfect results, it’s important to be patient and follow the recipe to the letter.
    • Store them properly: Once your gummies are ready, it’s important to store them properly to stay fresh and potent. We recommend storing them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for best results.
    • Enjoy them responsibly: Finally, it’s important to enjoy your THC gummies responsibly. This means starting with a low dose (5mg to start with) and waiting at least two hours before eating more – especially if you’re new to edibles or consume regularly.

Cannabis is now legal in Canada. People are getting more and more into edibles because it’s healthier and discreet alternative to smoking weed. You can make all sorts of different edibles, from brownies, cookies, chocolates or gummy bears. If you are looking for specific edible recipes please check our blog.

Cannabis edibles are a great way to consume cannabis. They are discreet, and you can control the dosage by how much you eat. In this article we will go over two ways to make cannabis edibles:

    • Using the flowers (for advanced), is the traditional way to do it but it is also the more time-consuming and less accurate way to craft your cannabis treat. Dosage is harder to control with this method.
    • Using concentrates such as distillate (for beginners) is probably the easiest way for you to start making your own edibles. Concentrates have an accurate THC content and it does not need to go through decarboxylation and infusion process.

In this article, we will walk you through both methods so that you can choose the one that is best for you! Making the perfect edibles require a certain amount of knowledge, both of cooking and marijuana. To get the perfect potency, it is important to understand how to decarboxylate cannabis if using your own weed. If you choose concentrate-based edibles you will have to figure out the right dosage.

So you want to make edibles? We’ve got the perfect recipe and instructions on how. It’s not as simple as buying brownie mix, adding crumbled weed on top and putting it in the oven. But don’t worry – we’ll help guide you through the whole process of making your own edibles!

How to use Weed to make edibles?

    [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”7148″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” parallax_scroll=”no” woodmart_inline=”no”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]

    The items you need

So you have weed at home and want to bake your edibles! That’s a good start. Many people find that they are more at ease handling the marijuana aspect than actually cooking up some THC-infused edibles! If you’re looking to make edibles, weed potency should not be your number one focus. The most important is to start with quality ingredients and the proper kitchen utensils. The goal should be getting quality ingredients that will make your edibles delicious.

    Ingredients

Choose high-quality chocolate, dark chocolate is your way to go. Anything between 70% and 85% will work just fine. If you can find a good brand like Callebaut or Guittard it’s even better (it is actually the brand we use for our own edibles).

Pick up six large eggs, coconut oil or two sticks of unsalted butter (depending on your preferences), vanilla extract, sugar, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and regular salt. Basically, the ingredients to bake the classic home brownie

    Utensils

You’ll also need a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, a weed grinder food processor, a wooden spoon, cheesecloth and a double-boiler, or a make-shift double boiler (such as a glass pyrex bowl or stainless steel bowl perched on top of a saucepan with water below)

Now that you have everything handy let’s learn how to make edibles so they can turn into delicious space cake!

    Choose the right strain

    [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”10812″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” parallax_scroll=”no” woodmart_inline=”no”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]

Making your own cannabis edibles can be a fun and cost-effective way to get high. However, choosing the wrong strain can lead to an unpleasant experience. Picking the right strain for edibles is important, as it depends on your mood and the social situation you are planning. Even though weed can impact everyone differently, here are some tips to help you choose the right strain!

Sativa dominant strains like Super Lemon Haze, Durban Poison, Jack Herer tend provide an energetic high perfect for daytime use.

Indicas like Bubba Kush, Granddaddy Purple, and Northern are better for relaxation and sleep at night.

If you have a strain that you love and that gives you the effect you are looking for you should do edibles with it. This way you know what to expect. If that is the case don’t worry much about Sativa or Indica.

    Decarboxylation

    [/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYEQaTG0WX8″ align=”center” image_poster_switch=”no”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]

The reason why marijuana is most commonly smoked rather than eaten has to do with the THC molecule. THCA is an inactive form of cannabis’ most prominent cannabinoid. This non-psychoactive acid occurs in the trichomes that cover fresh marijuana plants and individual dried flowers within it; however, this also means you can’t get high off THca by itself!

THC is the psychotropic or active version of the same cannabinoid. When you smoke weed, the THCA compounds are rapidly heated and changed into THC which gives you the “high effect”.

The process of decarboxylation (also known as “decarb”) is what transforms raw cannabis into an enhanced, potent form. In more scientific terms; it changes the chemical structure of various cannabinoid compounds found in plants – including THC!

    Decarboxylate Cannabis in your oven:

    1. Preheat the oven to 250°F, and be aware that this will make your house smell strongly of weed for a few hours. You’ve been warned!
    2. Break up your weed buds into smaller pieces and place it on a cookie sheet. Make sure that the cannabis is nicely spread; this is important because you want everything to be toasted evenly.
    3. Now, heat the cannabis until it’s decarboxylated at 250°F for 25-30 minutes. You could also use a lower temperature and longer cooking time if you want more of those precious terpenes! Once the process is done your weed should look golden brown as opposed to the original green.
    4. After toasting the weed, let it cool before putting it in a food processor and pulse for a few seconds so that you have ground it coarsely.

    Infuse in Oil or Butter

    [/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Stv6RlbWhO8″ align=”center” image_poster_switch=”no”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]

Now that your weed is active, it is time to make your Cannabis Oil or Cannabutter. Once this step is done you will be able to cook and bake easily with it. There are many ways to achieve this infusion, however, we’ve selected the easiest and fastest way for you. We don’t want to add some complicated steps to this already long process. Let’s see how to infuse your decarboxylate cannabis into Oil:

    1. Add water to the bottom pan of your double-boiler. Now add the amount of coconut oil that you need for your recipe to the top section of the double-boiler. Heat until it melts.
    2. Stir in the desired amount of decarboxylated cannabis, according to your dosage preferences into the melted oil.
    3. Continue to heat the cannabis and oil over low heat for 30 to 60 minutes, stirring occasionally.  We aim for a target temperature range of around 130 to 150°F, use a probe thermometer to check the temperature. Make sure that the oil stays below 200°F.
    4. When time is up, line a strainer with cheesecloth and place it over a glass bowl. Pour the cannabis mixture through this fabric, gathering up all of those lovely oils that have been released! Gently squeeze the cheesecloth to extract all of that extra oil from your cannabis. Be careful as the oil will be hot, we advise that you wear kitchen gloves for that part.
    5. Transfer the cannabis-infused oil into a glass jar. Your oil should be stored in a cool dark location, a refrigerator is a good option.

Now that you have your Cannabis oil ready you simply have to follow your classic brownie recipe. You have to be cautious about the dosage, please read below and everything will be fine.

How much cannabis is necessary for edibles?

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”12754″ img_size=”large” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” parallax_scroll=”no” woodmart_inline=”no”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]Well, it all depends on your tolerance to Cannabis and THC. If you are not familiar with edible dosage we recommend that you take a look at our edible dosage chart by weight. For beginners, we recommend 10mg THC per serving, which is enough to get you high but you will still be in control of the situation. Always wait at least two hours before taking more edibles as it takes time to kick in!

Now you need to calculate how many milligrams of THC your weed has. According to Weedmaps: “On average weed strains, have around 15-20% THC. That means, for every gram of dried flowers you have between 150mg and 200mg. Consequently, if you make a recipe with 1gram of weed you should have between 15 and 20 serving whether it is Cookies or Brownies.”

How to use Concentrates to make edibles?

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”12771″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” parallax_scroll=”no” woodmart_inline=”no”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]Cannabis concentrates are a new type of cannabis products with high level of THC. You can make them using different techniques. The most popular way to make them is by using solvents such as butane, ethanol, propane and CO². One of the advantages of concentrate is that it comes with an accurate THC content, for example, Distillate usually comes at 90% Of THC. Meaning that you have a lot more control over the dosage for your edibles. Concentrates are also widely available in Canada and the US making it easy to order it online.

Some of the most popular cannabis concentrates are shatter, wax, live resin and Distillate. When it comes to edibles the most popular concentrate to use is Distillate. The distillate has a big advantage because it does not need to decarboxylate, it already has active THC in it. According to Wikileaf edible-making process is much easier and faster when using Distillate.

The best way to avoid the cannabis smell? Distillate! Whether you share kitchen space with roommates or want the perfect treat for yourself, there are many advantages when making edibles using this versatile product.

    Use Distillate for your Edibles

Once you purchased you THC Distillate making infused edibles is really as simple as adding the extract to your oil or butter at a low temperature. Here is the breakdown for making distillate infused edibles below:

    1. Loosen the distillate by submerging the container in warm water.
    2. When the mixture is no longer sticky, measure out the amount you require.
    3. Pour the distillate into your oil or melted butter (the amount needed for your recipe)
    4. To assure thorough incorporation, constantly stir the mixture while it’s heating. When heating, keep under 300°F to maintain cannabinoids, terpenes, and other compounds.
    5. Once your Distillate has been completely dissolved in the oil you can combine all ingredients together and bake the the mix like it is a regular one.

How much concentrates should you use?

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”11756″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” parallax_scroll=”no” woodmart_inline=”no”][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]That depends entirely on your experience level and what you plan to use your edibles for. If you are new to concentrates, we recommend starting with a lower dosage. Make sure to check our dosage chart by weight before making your edibles with concentrates.

You can easily calculate the dosage per serving. Here’s an example:

If your distillate contains 90% THC, one gram if it will contain 900 milligrams of THC (1000mg x 0.9 – 900mg). For reference, Canada limits the THC content of edibles to 10per serving in Licensed stores. If you follow this recommendation, you could use one gram of distillate to make 90 individual weed gummies.

Benefits of using Distillate for edibles

    • Easier and faster than infusing oil with weed as you don’t have to decarb it.
    • Dosage accuracy, as it comes around 90% THC you can safely measure the amount of distillate you need for your batch of brownies, cookies or gummies.
    • No Cannabis flavour or smell.
